Workshop legal overview

Consumer Guarantees & Fair Trading

Where services are supplied to a consumer (as defined in NZ law), the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) provides guarantees about acceptable quality and fitness for purpose. Our obligations under the CGA include:

  • Providing services with reasonable care and skill;
  • Completing repairs within a reasonable time when *** time was agreed;
  • Using parts that match the agreed description and quality.

We do not exclude CGA rights where they cannot be excluded by law. Misrepresentations in relation to services are contrary to the Fair Trading Act and will be dealt with promptly.
